Established in 1991, AfriCASO is a network of Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Groups of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV), and other African HIV/AIDS community groups. The International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO) mission is to mobilize and support diverse community organizations to build an effective global response to HIV and AIDS. This is done within a vision of a world where people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS can enjoy life free from stigma, discrimination, and persecution, and have access to prevention, treatment and care. ADAP – AIDS Drug Assistance Program

HIV/AIDS medication is very expensive. For people living in the USA there are programs in place that help people who can’t afford to pay for the medications. The biggest program that deals with HIV/AIDS particularly is the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)

AIDS Drugs Assistance Programs (ADAP) are State-based programs funded in part by Title II of the Ryan White CARE Act created in 1990 by the US Congress. ADAPs provide medications to treat HIV disease or prevent related serious deterioration of health. Drugs provided and eligibility criteria are determined state by state with a focus on serving low-income individuals. There are ADAP programs in all 50 States, the District of Colombia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and 5 U.S. Pacific Territories or Associated Jurisdictions.

AIDS Foundation of Chicago

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago has partnered with the Minnesota AIDS Project and launched the Midwest AIDS Policy Alliance (MAPA) in 2005. This alliance includes ten states and fifteen agencies that are working as active members dedicated to advancing sound HIV/AIDS policies in their individual states. Through sharing winning strategies, best practices, and organizing tools, MAPA participants are putting HIV/AIDS on the agendas of state and federal policymakers.

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago also provides ideas for people who want to take action against HIV/AIDS. It also provides resources for people who have been recently diagnosed and helps them find support groups. They also organize marathons that are meant to raise money and awareness.

Utah AIDS Foundation

The Utah AIDS Foundation is located in Salt Lake City. The Foundation offers programs for those newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS who need support groups, nutritional information, counseling services, case managements, etc.

They also provide information regarding the different kinds of HIV testing, information regarding privacy policy when it comes to diagnosis, and they also provide information regarding the different testing sites in Utah.

For people interested in volunteer work, the Utah AIDS Foundation provides a number of different ways to get involved, including food banks, hotlines, testing helpers, etc. There is also information regarding different prevention groups in Utah.

They are a great resource for people who just have questions, or who have been diagnosed, or who know someone that is living with HIV/AIDS.
